The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through preparation of a company’s reports and statements. This position will report to the Controller

Specific Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries, financial statements, account reconciliations and analysis
Assist with month-end closing of the general ledger and accounts receivable
Review financial results and prepare variance analysis and explanations from prior trends and budget
Recommend improvements to current processes and ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
Perform monthly bank reconciliations
Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual covenant reporting
Assist with calculation of provider payrolls
Prepare documentation for external auditors
Various special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
At least two years’ experience in accounting or a related field
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to read and analyze financial reports
Ability to reliably commute to the office location in Danbury, CT
